Aim of the project was to design a capsule on a imaginary viaduct leg that has to be high above from the ground, 25 m³ and allows one person to live inside. Place had to create space for both living area and working area. Taco, the traditional street food of Mexico, was preferred for the product sold. In this context main point of the project was kitchen design and space saving. That is why creative solutions and good researching had to be done. The most suitable designs were made for the project in line with the data obtained from the research.
Industrial kitchen logic was adopted in kitchen design, and a more useful U kitchen counter was used. Thus, a more practical and accessible area was created in the kitchen. An under-counter refrigerator and freezer were used to save space. Product storage areas were created to store the products sold. There was a restriction of space in the toilet. A good system analysis had to be done for this. Since the toilet was already a wet space, there was no need to install a shower cabin and all the elements were gathered together.
A folding bed system was used for sleeping. When the bed is closed, the area is used as a sitting area. A folding table system was placed in the closet opposite the seating area to eat and work. In this way, the bed was disabled while using the table, and the table was disabled while using the bed.Since the structure would work as a cantilever to a reinforced concrete viaduct wall, it would be more appropriate to use lightweight materials in the design. Accordingly, composite wood was preferred as the exterior coating.
