Aim of the project was to design a play cabin for children in Kuzguncuk coastline. The most important thing was to think about child development, their ergonomics and improvement of their intelligence. Before start the project these main things were searched and necessity analyses were done in project area. Points, that cause opportunities and danger were considered. The relationship between sea and the project area posed a danger to children but this problem could be solve and the relationship between them could become safer. Environment design was as important as to design play cabin because adults would be there to take care of their child. These had to be taken into account when designing the area.
Purpose of this play cabin was to design an experimental structure. Inspiration was taken from Serpentine Galerie 2013 Pavilion designed by Sou Fujimato. External structure had to be complex and internal system had to be basic. According to this external structure, children's sense of exploration would come alive. In addition to these, activities that will support physical development were also considered and added to the project. Frame system was used in play cabin design. This system continued in environment design too. Sitting areas were made wtih frame system. The relationship between sea and the area was used in two different ways. One is an amphe design and the other one is a kind of hammock design. Amphe was created close to sea level and purpose of this amphe was to create a space that bringing people together. The hammock design preserved the relationship between the sea and children and made it safer. It has become that both children and adults can benefit.
